Two European Projects UNICOS and VIRTOUS, under coordination of RESET - Research and Education in Social Empowerment and Transformation organized EU Conference on Public Space Security and Protection in Nicosia, Cyprus on 12th June 2026. The organization was supported by our Centre: Karolina Tomczyk and Maksymilian Stela. Maksymilian additionally took an active part as a panelist and co-organizer of table top exercise.
The event brought together international experts, government representatives, security practitioners, and members of the scientific community, fostering open discussions on enhancing the security of public spaces. The exercise also provided an opportunity to further explore the threats posed by drones during large public events. This complex scenario was thoroughly analyzed, with participants identifying potential countermeasures and developing effective response strategies.
As the security environment continues to evolve rapidly, collaboration and the exchange of good practices play a vital role in building a resilient society and promoting effective coordination among security and safety stakeholders.
