This activity was delivered under Project 106 鈥� TEST, funded by the European Union through the EU CBRN Centers of Excellence Initiative, in cooperation with GOPA PACE (consortium leader), ISEM Institute (consortium technical co-leader), GOPA Worldwide Consultants, National Crisis Center, and the The Biohazard Prevention Centre / Centrum Zapobiegania Zagro偶eniom Biologicznym and with the support from UNICRI - United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute.
The exercise simulated an incident involving radioactive substances and toxic chemicals.

The exercise took place overnight from Sunday to Monday (July 5鈥�6) in a 鈥渓ive environment,鈥� that is, during the airport鈥檚 normal operations. Howerver event did not disrupt the airport鈥檚 normal operations, and passengers were kept informed about the exercise. The exercise was international in nature; observers included representatives from the regional secretariat of the EU CBRN CoE initiative for Central Asia, UNICRI, and the U.S. and South Korean embassies.
The exercise was preceded by several days of training for local experts from the organizations participating in the exercise. One of the trainers during the training was Maksymilian Stela, an expert from the Biohazard Prevention Centre at the University of 艁贸d藕. He was also responsible for directing the actors and simulators during the exercise, introducing subsequent events into the exercise scenario, and evaluating the exercise.
Following the exercise, an evaluation was conducted with all participating organizations.
Participants appreciated the realism of the scenario, the deployment of multiple forces and resources, the need for interagency coordination, and the importance of interagency communication. For most participants, this was their first experience with a CBRN incident. Following the exercise, the evaluation report will be submitted to the Mongolian side, along with identified gaps, needs, recommendations, and observed best practices. The Mongolian side has expressed a desire to participate in future exercises of this type. Mongolia is known for its involvement in the EU CBRN CoE Initiative; this is yet another project being carried out on its territory.
