The conference opened with a lecture by Prof. Norman Davis, who spoke about the role of promoting Polish history at foreign universities, particularly British ones. Prof. Davis clearly pointed out that there was a lack of a programme where students could learn about our country 鈥 its history, language and culture. Norman Davis is a British-Polish historian who has received numerous honours for promoting Polish history and has also been awarded the Order of the White Eagle by the President of Poland.
The panelists included business representatives 鈥 including large corporations, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises, scientists, politicians, people from culture and sports and activists.
The main theme that emerged in the debates and discussions was the future of the 鈥淧oland鈥 brand. The idea of creating a coherent vision and narrative for the country involves developing a strategy for all sectors of the state 鈥 the economy, science, culture and innovation. The generation of current students, known as Gen Z, undoubtedly plays a significant role in this task. Understanding the challenges young people currently face is crucial for building curricula and supporting them in adulthood.
The ultimate model for promoting Poland should be based on close coordination and collaboration between various institutions, which will allow for the development of a coherent and effective image of the country internationally. It is crucial to socialise the entire process and to appoint a government representative for the promotion of Poland is also crucial 鈥 said Henryka Bochniarz at the conclusion of .
The stage of history at which we currently find ourselves as a nation 鈥 and as the European community 鈥 also dictates other priorities for action: investments in innovation, resilience to crises, the ability to maintain security and the capacity to build lasting alliances.
