The 艁贸d藕 Police remind us that increased traffic during the All Saints' Day period affects both drivers and pedestrians. Particular attention should be paid in the vicinity of cemeteries, car parks, pedestrian crossings and public transport stops.
Keep an Eye on Your Belongings
Crowds at entrances and along cemetery paths can create opportunities for theft. It is advisable to take only the most essential items with you and keep your phone, documents, wallet and keys in a safe place.
When tidying graves, do not leave handbags or backpacks unattended, even for a short moment.
Stay Safe at the Cemetery
Pay attention to the condition of pathways, slippery surfaces, as well as the stability of gravestones and decorative elements. Lit grave candles also require caution. Do not place them near flammable materials and never leave an open flame unattended.
Park Your Car Safely
After parking, check that your vehicle has been locked and that all windows are fully closed. Do not leave valuables, documents or bags visible inside the car.
Temporary traffic arrangements, entry restrictions, diversions or special parking regulations may be in place near cemeteries. Follow road signs and the instructions of traffic management services.
Pedestrians: Make Sure You Are Visible
After dark and in poor weather conditions, visibility becomes particularly important. Reflective elements help drivers spot people walking near roadways sooner.
Cross the road only at designated crossings and do not assume that drivers will always have enough time to react appropriately.
Take Your Time
All Saints' Day is a time when people are particularly prone to rushing and becoming distracted. It is therefore worth planning your route in advance, checking for possible traffic changes and allowing extra time for your journey.
