On 21 May at 6:00 p.m., graduates of the series partner – the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz University of Music in Łóź – will perform at the Biedermann’s Palace (Franciszkańska 1/5). Gabriela Graboń (viola), Kacper Pałuba (violin) and Wojciech Wołoszyn (piano) will present a programme consisting of works by Zdzisław Szostak, Bohuslav Martinů and Rebecca Clarke.
Gabriela Graboń is a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz University of Music in Łóź. She graduated with distinction in the specialisations of violin and viola. She has participated in numerous international and national competitions, earning many awards and distinctions. She is a laureate of, among other things, first prize at the 1st National Michał Szaleski Competition in Łóź, first prize at the 8th Tadeusz Goneta Viola Review in Kraków, and first prize along with three special awards at the 4th Wanda Wiłkomirska Polish Music Competition in Częstochowa (2022). Together with her chamber ensemble, Graboń was a finalist of the 20th Music Awards Maastricht 2022 and the Storioni Competition 2022 in Eindhoven (the Netherlands). She has honed her skills at courses and workshops under the guidance of distinguished pedagogues such as Łukasz Błaszczyk, Elena Denisova and Kazimierz Olechowski. She is a member of the PRIMUZ orchestra, with which she has taken part in numerous concerts and festivals and has made album recordings.
The violinist, Kacper Pałuba, comes from a family with rich artistic traditions. Surrounded by classical music from an early age, he has developed sensitivity, passion and a deep respect for art. He is a laureate of many prestigious music competitions, including first prize at the International String Instruments Competition in Elbląg, second prize at the 10th International Chamber Tournament In Three Movements in Bydgoszcz, the Grand Prix at the International Chamber Ensembles Competition in Rzeszów, and first prize at the 9th Odin International Online Music Competition. He regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician, actively participating in music projects in Poland and abroad. Contemporary music occupies a special place in his repertoire – he has performed works by composers such as Krzysztof Penderecki, Rolf Wallin and Arne Nordheim.
The pianist, Wojciech Wołoszyn, has developed his skills at several international masterclasses. He has taken part in national and international competitions, winning, among other things, second prize and a special award for the best pianist from Łóź at the 1st Inter-school Piano Competition in Łóź, a special award from Yamaha at the 4th International Competition for Young Pianists “Arthur Rubinstein in memoriam” in Bydgoszcz in 2000, and a distinction in the Piano Trio category at the 14th International Intercollegiate Karol Bacewicz Chamber Music Competition in Łóź (2001). In addition to his pedagogical work (Assistant Professor at the University of Music), he works as an accompanist in viola, double bass and violin classes and performs at festivals and competitions, including in Ludwigslust (Germany), Blatná (Czech Republic) and Poznań.
