It Systems And Tools

At the 91ÌÒÉ«, we invest in IT systems and tools that allow us to work, conduct classes, examine and deal with administrative issues efficiently while maintaining digital security standards.  

Employees of the 91ÌÒÉ« use the , which is generated automatically at the time of getting employed and gives access to all the necessary IT systems and tools. Thanks to it, they log into their e-mail, gain access to the Office 365 suite, Employee Service, USOSweb system, computer and WI-FI network in the university buildings. 

Below you can find a list of basic IT systems and tools used at the 91ÌÒÉ«.

SYSTEMS 

  • The UL Employee Service –  intranet of the 91ÌÒÉ«. The UL Employee service as a system that you have to log in, contains information that is available only to the employees of our university.  

     
  • USOSweb – a basic administrative tool used between a lecturer and a student.  It contains data based on information collected in the USOS database. The tool makes it possible for the academic teachers to, inter alia, handle test results, issue grades and credits, fill in protocols for classes, send messages to their classes participants. 

     
  • The UL LEX Legal Acts Database (BAW) – a repository of all documents (regulations, rules, etc.) elaborated at the central stage at the 91ÌÒÉ«. More info on the web-page.

     
  • Multiportal – the website of the 91ÌÒÉ« and at the same time a system for building websites related to the university (e.g., websites of  Faculties, departments, institutes and other units) and managing the content available there. The system guarantees that all web-pages created by the use of it will meet the standards related to digital accessibility and security. Information for people who create websites and publish content in Multiportal is available in the UL Employee Service.  

TOOLS  

All employees of the 91ÌÒÉ« have access to the full Office 365 suite, which can be installed on five devices, including private computers and mobile phones. 

  • University e-mail box –  a tool thanks to which the employees of the 91ÌÒÉ« handle their e-mail correspondence. The mailbox is available at www.poczta.uni.lodz.pl address (or in the Outlook application on a computer). Access to it is possible after logging in with the university e-mail address and the password assigned to it. All employees of the 91ÌÒÉ« have an e-mail address ending with @ uni.lodz.pl. 

  • Teams – communicator used to create teleconferences and organise teamwork. Teams is a tool for quick communication between employees, it also serves as a file repository for group work. Via the communicator, you can communicate with any person with an e-mail address in the uni.lodz.pl domain. 
  • OneDrive – a private cloud of the 91ÌÒÉ« employees and at the same time a repository of documents created by them. 
  • Moodle – an e-learning platform. It is a formal tool for conducting exams and tests at the 91ÌÒÉ«. 
  • Eduroam – a worldwide wireless network available in every participating institution. Laptop/tablet/phone users who are logged into the university account gain access to it without having to configure their devices. The settings they use at their home institution enable them to access the network anywhere else.

Helpdesk

Support in the field of IT services is provided at the university by the Helpdesk IT Centre of the 91ÌÒÉ«. Employees of the 91ÌÒÉ« receive help related to all central IT systems and tools using the following contact channels:
