Current research topics:
Various applications of confocal microscopy and image analysis (including fluorescence lifetime imaging) in cell biology, membrane function and taxonomy; molecular genetics and cellular signal transduction in pharmacokinetics and toxicology.
Heterologous expression of recombinant proteins. Directed evolution of proteins.
