Research interests:

  • Avian immunogenetics: polymorphism and evolution of genes coding for key immune molecules and receptors (MHC, TLR) - common tern, black-headed gull, coot, white-tailed eagle, passerine birds
  • Evolution of physiological, ecological, and life history traits in birds - inter-specific comparative studies
  • Genetic and ecological mechanisms of urbanization processes in birds - coot
  • Ecology of avian sociality and migration

Research projects (since 2010):

  • NCN SONATA BIS (2020/38/E/NZ8/00143) - Microevolution of urban life - genetic mechanisms of animal urbanization (2021-2026)
  • NCN OPUS (2016/23/B/NZ8/02374) - Immunological and immunogenetic determinants of avian sociality (2017 -2020).
  • NCN SONATA (2015/19/D/NZ8/01310) - The role of duplication in the evolution of avian MHC (2016-2019).
  • NCN PRELUDIUM (2012/05/N/NZ8/00889) - Pattern of urban colonization and benefits of urban nesting in the Common Coot Fulica atra (2013-2016).
  • Iuventus Plus (IP2011 036171) - Extra-pair paternity and conspecific brood parasitism within the colony of the Whiskered Tern (2012-2013).
