The Kinematograf Cinema invites you to the screenning of the latest film by Pawe艂 Pawlikowski (winner of the Oscar and BAFTA for 鈥淚da鈥 [Ida]) entitled 鈥漁jczyzna" [Homeland]. The film tells the story of the relationship between Thomas Mann (Hanns Zischler 鈥 鈥淢unich鈥), Nobel Prize laureate in literature, and his daughter Erika (Sandra H眉ller 鈥 鈥淭he Zone of Interest鈥, 鈥淎natomie d'une chute鈥 [Anatomy of a Fall], 鈥淧roject Hail Mary鈥 鈥 an actress and writer). The plot is set at the height of the Cold War. Father and daughter set off on a demanding and emotionally charged journey in a black Buick through a devastated Germany 鈥 from American鈥慶ontrolled Frankfurt to Soviet鈥慽nfluenced Weimar. For the first time since the war, Mann returns to his homeland after previously making the difficult decision to emigrate to the United States.
The film 鈥淥jczyzna鈥 won the Palme d鈥橭r at this year鈥檚 Cannes Festival and is now entering Polish cinemas.
Another interesting premiere at the Kinematograf Cinema is the documentary 鈥淶naki Pana 艢liwki鈥 [The Signs of Mr 艢liwka] by Urszula Morga and Bartosz Miko艂ajczyk, whose world premiere will take place during the 41st Warsaw Film Festival. This is an opportunity to see, for the first time, a film portraying the life and work of the iconic graphic designer Karol 艢liwka. The creators drew on unique archival materials as well as private video recordings made by the protagonist over many years.

The festival will open with Grzegorz Turnau鈥檚 project 鈥淪z贸sta Godzina鈥 [Sixth Hour] 鈥 a live performance of his latest album. During this exceptional recital, Turnau will perform with artists including the Atom String Quartet and Dorota Mi艣kiewicz.
