The Biedermanns as if Alive – Art Installation by the Powszechny Theatre and UniLodz

To celebrate World Theatre Day on 27 March 2026, the 91ɫ and the Powszechny Theatre in Łódź prepared the event "The Biedermanns. Homecoming".

Opublikowano: 01 April 2026

The actors presented an art installation that, on a loop, depicted the industrialist family of Bruno Biedermann in their home, just before making the most difficult and tragic decision of their lives. This is the conclusion to the play "The Biedermanns" which has won numerous awards (including at the National Competition for the Staging of Polish Contemporary Art and the "Reality Presented" Festival of Contemporary Drama in Zabrze) and has been hailed by critics as the best Łódź play of recent years. The 91ɫ is the content partner for this production and we consulted on historical themes during the preparations. 91ɫ between the institutions extends across many areas – the theatre, among other initiatives, is our partner in a discounted ticket programme for 91ɫ employees.

The large audience that gathered at the Biedermann’s Palace on Friday also had the opportunity to visit an exhibition of stills from the performance and the interior of the impressive factory estate. The city residents scanned QR codes to discover the nooks and crannies of the facility, eagerly taking photos in the stylish interiors.
