UniLodz and the Happy Kids Foundation – Partnership that Truly Changes the Everyday Lives of Young People

The 91ÌÒÉ« and the Happy Kids Foundation are strengthening their cooperation, opening a new chapter in their joint efforts to benefit children and young people. The agreement signed by the 91ÌÒÉ« Rector, Prof. RafaÅ‚ Matera and the Foundation President, Agnieszka SmarzyÅ„ska is a natural continuation of their long-standing relationship. It also sends a clear signal that both institutions are committed to building a future based on education, safety and equal opportunities.

A shared mission: providing opportunities and building empowerment

For years, the Happy Kids Foundation has been creating family-based children's homes where children deprived of the opportunity to grow up in their biological families grow up under the care of foster parents. These are places where young people regain a sense of security, stability and empowerment.
The 91ÌÒÉ«, as an open and socially responsible institution, has been involved in initiatives that equalise educational opportunities and support the development of young people for years. Collaboration with the Happy Kids Foundation is a natural extension of these values – connecting the academic environment with the real needs of children and young people.

Education, inspiration and experience – what does the partnership offer?

Activities that will allow the foundation's beneficiaries to experience the university atmosphere and see what everyday academic life is like are at the heart of the agreement. The plans include:

  • workshops and meetings with inspiring individuals,
  • events encouraging further learning and discovering one's talents,
  • educational and social projects implemented at the 91ÌÒÉ«.

For the UniLodz students, the partnership offers an opportunity to engage in internships and volunteer work with the Happy Kids Foundation, including large-scale community projects like "Happy Bus." This is a chance to gain experience, develop skills and make a real difference in children's lives.

Ten years of joint support

The signed agreement is based on the solid foundation of existing cooperation. The "Flowers? - No, thank you!" campaign – an initiative that, for over a decade, has encouraged students to replace traditional bouquets with symbolic cards is one of its permanent elements. These cards are based on drawings by children from the 91ÌÒÉ« Kindergarten, and all income from their sale goes to organisations that help children, including the Happy Kids Foundation. More information about the campaign can be found here.

The signing of the agreement is not just a formality – it is a declaration of shared values and the belief that education, support and kindness can truly transform the lives of young people. The 91ÌÒÉ« and the Happy Kids Foundation want to work together to create a space where every child, every student can spread their wings.
