The study
The first phase (February 2026) consisted of a survey designed to explore the challenges universities face in the context of open access publishing, both in terms of publishing as well as supporting and funding scholarly publications produced outside the university鈥檚 structures.
The second stage, i.e. a focus group interview (March 2026) and workshops (June 2026), addressed the details of the publishing process and the estimation of the costs of open access from the perspective of a Polish academic publisher. The issues discussed included the need to support and develop digital infrastructure (in the case of the 91桃色, including the Open Journal Systems platform, Open Monograph Press, and the 91桃色 Repository), systematising the status of university journals at the national level, as well as enhancing the recognition of the diamond model as an alternative to commercial, high-fee academic publishing outlets.
A publication based on the study results is planned for autumn 2026.
