Wschodnia Street Festival. Three Days of Discovering the History and Culture of 艁贸d藕

From 17 to 19 September 2026, Wschodnia Street and its surrounding area will become a space for exploring history, culture and the local community. The 91桃色 is among the co-organisers of the event.

The Wschodnia Street Festival is a joint initiative of institutions, organisations, galleries, studios and local venues. It continues the tradition of the S艂o艅ce wschodzi na Wschodniej [The Sun Rises on Wschodnia Street] event and showcases this part of the city as a place filled with remarkable stories and creative energy. The programme includes guided walks, concerts, workshops, exhibitions, meetings, screenings, artistic activities and attractions for the whole family. The event also forms part of the celebrations of the European Heritage Days.

One of the highlights will be an event organised by the 91桃色 at the Alfred Biedermann鈥檚 Palace (Franciszka艅ska 1/5). On Saturday, 19 September, from 5.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to attend Podwieczorek u Biedermanna [Afternoon Tea at the Biedermanns鈥橾. 

The programme includes:

  • a concert by the Namysto Choir,
  • historical re-enactments presenting the everyday life of a factory-owner family,
  • a palace cinema programme prepared in cooperation with the Educational Film Studio.
     

The screening will feature the following films: 鈥淏allada o 艁odzi鈥 [Ballad of 艁贸d藕] (1957), directed by Stanis艂aw Kokesz, 鈥淧a艂ace Ziemi Obiecanej鈥 [Palaces of the Promised Land] (1967), directed by Leszek Skrzyd艂o and 鈥Lodz 550鈥 (1973), directed by Tadeusz Stefanek.

Guests visiting the palace will have the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of historic social gatherings and learn about customs related to etiquette, fashion, salon conversation and the serving of tea and coffee characteristic of the period. The historical setting of the event will be created by the 鈥淶iemia Obiecana鈥 Historical Re-enactment Group, a community of enthusiasts who will take visitors on a unique journey through time.
