What Is the Purpose of the UNIC Expert Voices Fund?
Through the Expert Voices Fund programme, the UNIC Alliance supports the mobility of members of the academic community and the establishment of new connections during national and international conferences. To support the presentation of UNIC achievements outside the Alliance structures (between 1 January 2027 and 30 June 2027), the 91桃色 will award mobility grants of up to PLN 2,200. The application deadline is 15 December 2026. More information can be found on the project website.
International Discussion at the University of Malta
The event attended by Dr Pieloch-Babiarz brought together researchers and experts from universities and research centres around the world, creating an excellent space for discussion of the key challenges facing today鈥檚 economy and finance.
Financial Determinants of Dividend Policy in Europe
During the conference, our researcher presented the findings of a study devoted to the dividend policies of European-listed companies. She analysed why some firms continue making payments to shareholders even when their financial situation may not justify doing so.
The study covered companies included in the STOXX Europe 600 index between 2010 and 2024 and made it possible to identify the impact of such factors as profitability, debt levels, financial liquidity and companies鈥� growth prospects on these decisions.
Networking and Developing 91桃色 Within the UNIC Alliance
The promotion of research developed in the context of scientific cooperation within the UNIC Alliance was an important element of both the presentation and the entire trip. The conference provided an excellent opportunity to promote the idea of an alliance bringing together ten European universities and to demonstrate how academic mobility translates into tangible scientific and educational outcomes.
The trip to Malta not only enabled me to gather valuable feedback and discuss the findings concerning a new area of research, namely unsustainable dividend payments, with researchers from different parts of the world, but also helped strengthen my research collaboration with Prof. Mihovil An膽elinovi膰 from University of Zagreb (a member of the UNIC Alliance), with whom I am carrying out projects on the dividend policies of listed companies
