Application rules and deadlines
The call opens on 5 March 2026, and unlike previous rounds, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the five-application limit is reached. Each submitted initiative is assessed on an ongoing basis, and a funding decision will be announced within four weeks of application submission.
Who can apply and what projects are eligible?
The programme is open to all teaching staff at the 91ÌÒÉ«, regardless of discipline. Both already existing courses and new ones are eligible, provided they are designed and implemented in collaboration with a partner or partners from universities belonging to the UNIC Alliance. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in the development of a modern teaching model and enrich the curriculum with elements of international cooperation.
What is virtual exchange and why is it important?
Virtual exchange, which is an innovative educational format that complements traditional student mobility, offering students the opportunity to collaborate daily with peers from other countries without having to travel, is at the heart of the programme. These activities facilitate real intercultural contact, foster communication between universities and strengthen the internationalisation of the curriculum and the entire institution.
Project assumptions as part of virtual exchange
As part of virtual exchange:
- at least two UNIC university teachers from two different universities design the learning activity collaboratively;
- the classes assume active, intercultural cooperation between students from each participating university – both in tasks and joint projects,
- participants receive ECTS points and the classes are an integral part of the study curriculum of universities participating in the project, including elective courses.
Funding
The UniLodz employees who submit a project can receive a grant of up to PLN 8,000 for activities related to preparing and co-teaching classes with a partner or partners from UNIC. Funding can be used for, among other things, personnel costs, travel and other expenses necessary to implement a joint teaching initiative.
Teaching methods – real-world challenges, collaboration
The programme also encourages the use of collaborative methods, such as challenge-based learning, in which students work on real-world, often locally anchored, social challenges in international teams, further enriching the learning process.
