Time together – exchange of experiences and opportunity to get to know each other
The Easter meetings were attended by students from various EU countries, as well as from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan and South America.
One of the meetings was opened by Prof. Robert Zakrzewski, the 91ÌÒÉ« Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Education. He extended Easter wishes to the students and talked about the idea and need for such meetings:
Easter is a special and beautiful time in Poland. During the meetings such as this one, we want to share with our international students the atmosphere, joy and warmth of our homes. For many of them, it is the only chance to learn about Polish traditions, customs and try festive Easter dishes.
Polish culture and customs during the meetings
International students got familiar with the traditions and customs of Polish Easter. Employees of the International Relations Office of the 91ÌÒÉ« talked about Polish Easter customs and explained how Poles spend this special time, including: the tradition of dyeing Easter eggs or Wet Monday. The students also had the opportunity to test their knowledge in a special quiz and, at the end, dye Easter eggs together.
