Jason Bonsall is a researcher in internet governance, AI policy, and data governance, currently serving as Cyber Ambassador for the Summer School on Internet Governance and International Law () at the University of 艁贸d藕, a role he has held since July 2024. As Cyber Ambassador, and previously Fellow, Jason was selected as Co-Organizer for the July 2026 summer school, where he designed and led the Day 5 capstone session, guiding approximately 20 international students through drafting a formal session proposal for the UN Internet Governance Forum 2026 under a hard submission deadline. His work with SSIGIL also includes authoring a peer-reviewed chapter on Starlink and African connectivity initiatives and co-authoring a policy brief contributed to the United Nations WSIS+20 review process in Geneva.
Jason is also a Fellow at the Information Society Law Center (University of Milan), where he is writing a chapter on algorithmic harm and platform regulation in Latin America. He holds an MA in European and Global Studies from the Universit脿 degli Studi di Padova and a BA in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno. Outside academia, he brings applied quantitative and systems experience from banking operations, including fraud analytics and enterprise documentation, along with bilingual community education on fraud prevention.
