This is not the first distinction for these young artists. The film was screened at the international festival Les Regards de l鈥橧CART, where the jury recognised the work of the young creators, awarding it a prize in the Engagement category.
鈥淢emoria鈥� tells the story of a relationship between a woman and her newly met neighbour 鈥� presented from the unusual perspective of a stone lying beneath an apartment building. The creators employed a non-anthropocentric narrative form, inspired by reflections on the dominance of sight in culture and cinema. The stone, seemingly lifeless and indifferent, becomes a silent witness to everyday events and simultaneously a carrier of 鈥渟tone memory鈥� 鈥� a concept balancing on the boundary between science and poetic metaphor.
The production has also been selected for the programmes of the VisiOn Film Festival, Lift-Off Filmmaker Sessions and the LU Motion Picture Festival.
