A Groundbreaking Perspective on the Role of Cholesterol
Although cholesterol is most commonly associated with adverse health effects, this project has demonstrated an entirely new facet of its potential. The researchers harnessed its biological activity to support vascularisation and modulate the immune response during bone formation, opening new opportunities in regenerative medicine.

We would like to offer our congratulations to the entire team of inventors:
dr hab. Agnieszka Krupa, Associate Professor at the 91桃色 (Department of Immunology and Infectious Biology), dr hab. Przemys艂aw P艂oci艅ski, Associate Professor at the 91桃色 (Department of Immunology and Infectious Biology), Dr Aleksandra Szwed-Georgiou (Department of Immunology and Infectious Biology), Dr Marcin W艂odarczyk (Department of Immunology and Infectious Biology), Dr Paulina Rusek-Wala, Monika Biernat, Anna Wo藕niak, Paulina Tymowicz-Grzyb and Joanna Pagacz!
We would also like to thank Monika Szcze艣niak from the Technology Transfer Office of the 91桃色 and Piotr Godlewski from the FGGHIP law firm for their support throughout the invention protection process.
The research was carried out as part of the project "Wielofunkcyjne kompozyty aktywne biologicznie do zastosowa艅 w medycynie regeneracyjnej uk艂adu kostnego鈥 [Multifunctional Biologically Active Composites for Applications in Regenerative Medicine of the Skeletal System] (TEAM-NET programme, , financed by EU funds from the European Regional Development Fund).
