Applications for scholarships for outstanding young scientists demonstrating significant achievements in scientific activity were submitted by rectors of universities and directors of institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, research institutes, and international institutes. This year, 1,640 applications were submitted to the Minister of Science and Higher Education. Their substantive evaluation was carried out by the minister鈥檚 advisory team using a points-based method within individual scientific and artistic disciplines. Based on individual assessments conducted by experts, the presidium of the team presented the minister with a resolution containing ranking lists of applications submitted by young scientists, along with recommendations.
Within each discipline, two separate rankings were created:
- for individuals holding a doctoral degree, academic teachers without a doctoral degree and individuals preparing a doctoral dissertation in an external mode;
- for doctoral students only.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education awarded scholarships to 230 young scientists.
