Who can apply for the award?

You can take part in the competition if you obtained your BA or MA degree between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026, or if you obtained your doctoral degree between 1 October 2024 and 30 September 2026.

What should the thesis be like?

The thesis may be written in Polish or English. In the case of BA and MA theses, it must not have been submitted in previous editions of the competition.

The subject matter of the thesis should cover issues related to:

• capital market and its structure,
• financial and stock exchange institutions,
• financial instruments,
• capital market infrastructure,
• modern technologies implemented in the capital market.

The evaluation process will focus in particular on:

• academic quality,
• originality of approach,
• scope of research,
• innovativeness of conclusions.

Why is it worth taking part?

There are many reasons! By participating in the competition, you can present your thesis to a panel of experts in the field of the capital market. It is also an opportunity to obtain funding that will support your further academic or professional development, as well as to gain a prestigious distinction within both the academic and financial communities. Participation in the competition can also be an opportunity to establish new connections and meet people with similar interests.

What are the prizes?

If we have already convinced you that the competition offers many opportunities for development, it is time for the specifics – the cash prizes you can win.

Bachelor’s theses:
1st place: PLN 4,000
2nd place: PLN 2,000
3rd place: PLN 1,500

Master’s theses:
1st place: PLN 7,000
2nd place: PLN 4,000
3rd place: PLN 2,000

Doctoral theses:
1st place: PLN 10,000
2nd place: PLN 7,000
3rd place: PLN 5,000

Additionally, special distinctions will be awarded by the Competition’s Partners and Patrons:

• PLN 5,000 – for an MA thesis on investment funds (distinction awarded by TFI PZU S.A.),
• PLN 3,000 – for a BA or MA thesis on long-term saving and investment (distinction awarded by PFR Portal PPK sp. z o.o.),
• PLN 3,000 – for an MA thesis on Asset Management (distinction awarded by the Polish Chamber of Fund and Asset Management),
• PLN 3,000 – for an MA thesis on financial education (distinction awarded by the Warsaw Stock Exchange Foundation),
• PLN 5,000 – for a doctoral thesis on financial education (distinction awarded by the Warsaw Stock Exchange Foundation).
   

So, how can I submit my thesis to the competition?

Applications are accepted until 31 October 2026 and may only be submitted by the authors of the theses. To take part in the competition, you need to prepare:

• an application form,
• the supervisor’s consent,
• a copy of a document confirming the award of the relevant academic degree,
• the thesis in a PDF format.

Authors of BA and MA theses should additionally submit a summary of their work, while in the case of doctoral theses, a short opinion from the supervisor is required.

Competition entries should be sent to: konkurs@fundacjagpw.pl. Application documents can be delivered electronically, in person or by post. In the case of submissions sent by email, the complete set of documents must be received by the organiser no later than 31 October 2026, 23:59.

In last year’s edition, 111 diploma theses were evaluated, and the official final gala provided a unique opportunity to recognise young talents and educational projects promoting knowledge about the capital market.
