The Kinematograf Cinema, as always comes along with ambitious offerings. "Staring at the Sun" follows the adolescence of four girls on a single farm in northern Germany, at different points in the 20th and 21st centuries. Although separated by time, each of them experiences similar emotions – first love, rebellion and family tensions. Their stories intertwine, revealing secrets that have remained hidden for years. The film received industry recognition. At Cannes, it won the Jury Prize for Best Film, the European Film Academy honoured its costume design and Energa Camerimage recognised the cinematography.

The film entitled "The Assistant" is the second offering from the Kinematograf Cinema. The film's protagonist, Joseph Marti, is humiliated and belittled by his foreman and leaves his job at a bookbinding shop. The hiring manager offers him a position at the villa of engineer Karl Tobler, an inventor who believes his patents will be a huge financial success. Marti becomes his "man for everything." He gradually learns about the closed and toxic world of Tobler's villa and the problems of his lonely and unhappy wife.

There's also a treat for jazz fans, who, as usual, will be intertwined with other genres. Tickets for the 19th Summer Jazz Academy are now available for purchase. The regular price is 260 PLN, and for the 91ÌÒÉ« community, it's only 210 PLN.

This year’s edition will be headlined by Dee Dee Bridgewater – one of the greatest personalities in the world of jazz, a Grammy and Tony Award winner, and an artist who has been setting the standard for jazz vocals for decades.

The festival will open with Grzegorz Turnau's "Szósta Godzina" (Sixth Hour), a live performance of his latest album. During this exceptional recital, Turnau will perform with artists including the Atom String Quartet and Dorota Miśkiewicz.

The Summer Jazz Academy programme will also feature Xavi Torres with his Barencia project – an energetic blend of jazz and flamenco; Anna Colom – a charismatic Basque vocalist considered one of the most compelling voices on the contemporary Iberian scene, combining flamenco, Basque tradition and modern improvisation; as well as outstanding Polish artists: Marcin Masecki, Jan Emil Młynarski, Henryk Miśkiewicz, Natalia Kordiak and Hania Derej. In addition, there are a number of talented young artists.
