The programme is designed for individuals who wish to develop their academic interests, gain international experience and become actively involved in academic, cultural and social life while studying in Germany.
What does the scholarship include?
Successful applicants will receive:
- a monthly scholarship of €650,
- assistance in finding accommodation in a student residence hall or private lodging,
- access to the international GFPS academic network,
- participation in two compulsory four-day seminars:
- the introductory and integration seminar “City Days at the beginning of the semester,
- the closing “Forum seminar, where participants present the outcomes of their academic projects.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants are expected to:
- demonstrate German language proficiency at a minimum B1 level,
- actively engage in academic, cultural and social activities during their stay,
- carry out an individual academic project on a topic of their choice.
The project may take the form of a research study, presentation, experiment or other scholarly activity. Applicants are encouraged to connect the project with their Bachelor's, Engineering, Master's or doctoral thesis where relevant.
GFPS and Erasmus+
The GFPS scholarship may be undertaken concurrently with an Erasmus+ mobility, provided this is compatible with the participant’s Erasmus+ funding agreement. Importantly, the academic project does not need to be directly related to the applicant’s field of study; originality, motivation and personal development are key selection criteria.
