The event was organised as part of the European Union initiative to establish CBRN Centres of Excellence. Representatives of 10 countries from the East and Central Africa region took part in the exercise:
- Burundi,
- Democratic Republic of the Congo,
- Ethiopia,
- Ghana,
- Kenya,
- Malawi,
- Seychelles,
- Tanzania,
- Uganda,
- Zambia.
The training was jointly organised by experts from two projects implemented within the above-mentioned European CBRN Centres of Excellence. The event was officially opened by the Minister of Defence of Zambia, which demonstrates its high profile and the country’s strong commitment to developing CBRN capabilities.

The scenario assumed the use of abrin, a highly potent plant-derived toxin, which posed a significant challenge for contamination detection teams as well as decontamination teams, particularly in verifying the effectiveness of decontamination processes.

The representative of the 91ÌÒÉ«, mgr inż. Maksymilian Stela, served as the head of the exercise evaluation team. The training was very positively received by participants, who appreciated the way both projects were implemented – with a strong focus on practical activities and on enabling participants to acquire real, applicable skills.
