Kamila G艂uchowska investigates molecular mechanisms that enable deep-sea crustaceans to inhabit the most extreme zones of the ocean. In her research, she combines the expertise of a taxonomist with modern comparative genomics.
鈥淜orzenie Przysz艂o艣ci鈥� is an initiative addressed to doctoral students and PhD holders in biological and environmental sciences under the age of 35. The aim of the programme is to create favourable conditions for young scientists to conduct ambitious fundamental research that may, in the future, form the basis for new discoveries and innovations.
This year, the organisers received a total of 252 applications from researchers affiliated with research centres across Poland, including 156 women and 96 men. The selection of laureates was made by a committee composed of distinguished representatives of the scientific community. The committee was chaired by Prof. dr hab. Ewa Bartnik 鈥� a geneticist, science populariser and a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The other members of the committee included: Prof. dr hab. Marcin Zych, Prof. dr hab. Barbara Lipi艅ska, dr hab. Miros艂awa Dabert, Prof. dr hab. Wojciech Ni偶a艅ski, as well as representatives of the organisers.
Each edition demonstrates the exceptionally high level of young researchers in Poland. This year, what stood out in particular was the diversity of topics and the maturity of the projects. Selecting the laureates was very challenging, as we evaluated many outstanding applications. Ultimately, we recognised not only their scientific value and research potential, but also the passion and consistency with which the authors develop their projects

This year鈥檚 group of scholarship recipients includes individuals from leading research centres in Poland. The call for applications for the next edition of the 鈥淜orzenie Przysz艂o艣ci鈥� programme will open in early 2027.
