Meet the Science People from the 91桃色
Every professor was once a student. Every researcher began with curiosity, a few questions and the conviction that some things are worth investigating independently. Behind every scientific paper, experiment or discovery stands a person. Someone who can return to the same problem for months, change assumptions, start again and accept that answers do not come immediately.
The "mgr in偶. prof. dr hab. . 芦Facet(ka) od nauki禄鈥 [Science People] campaign, originating from the Science Inspires initiative, tells the stories of such people. It presents UniLodz researchers who devote a significant part of their work to understanding phenomena that influence our health, safety and quality of life. They study memory and sleep, develop artificial intelligence, analyse the effects of climate change, work on solutions that increase online cybersecurity, search for more effective diagnostic methods and examine social problems. The results of their work help us better understand the world around us and respond to the challenges facing contemporary society.
The posters feature individual people. Science itself, however, is a team effort. Behind every portrait stand researchers and experts representing different fields of knowledge, as well as diverse experiences, competencies and perspectives. It is at the intersection of these differences that ideas emerge and later become research projects, discoveries and new solutions.
We Are Stepping Beyond Laboratories and Lecture Halls

The Helpful Viruses Woman 鈥 Dr Magdalena Moryl
What do Alzheimer鈥檚 disease, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, housing prices and the rivers of 艁贸d藕 have in common? Far more than one might expect. All these topics influence the way we function as a society: how we take care of our health, use technology, design cities and respond to contemporary crises. That is precisely why they have become a part of the 鈥淪cience People鈥 campaign.
We did not choose these stories because they represent particular academic disciplines. We selected them because they address issues that matter beyond the academic world. They concern health, safety, new technologies, the environment, social relations and quality of life. These are research projects whose outcomes help us better understand reality and respond to the challenges of the modern world. We are presenting them in the public space because their audience is not limited to scientists. They are relevant to everyone affected by these changes.
There Is a Person Behind Every Academic Title

The Data Analysis Woman 鈥 dr hab. El偶bieta Antczak, Associate Professor at the 91桃色
The campaign slogans deliberately move away from the language traditionally associated with academia. 鈥淭he Memory Woman鈥, 鈥淭he AI Guy鈥, 鈥淭he Fighting Problems Woman鈥, 鈥淭he Drug Detection Guy鈥 and 鈥淭he Space Guy鈥 sound more like social media profile names than scientific specialisations. These short slogans draw attention not to academic titles and degrees but to the people themselves and the subjects they explore. Behind every slogan and portrait lie years of teamwork, concrete projects and research questions that continue to be investigated.
Regardless of what degree or title appear before a surname, science begins with curiosity about the world. It is curiosity that leads from the first observations and questions to specialisation and, over time, to years of research into phenomena that do not lend themselves to simple answers.
From a Student to a Researcher

The (Un)Affordable Housing Guy 鈥 dr hab. Szymon Marci艅czak, Associate Professor at the 91桃色
It is no coincidence that the campaign title includes the sequence 鈥渕gr in偶. prof. dr hab.鈥. It is a condensed story of an academic journey. At UniLodz, scientific research is not reserved exclusively for experienced professors. Students take part in research projects, work within research teams and pursue their own initiatives. For many people, this is where the path begins, eventually leading to a laboratory, an archive, a lecture hall or the management of their own research team. Today鈥檚 鈥淎I Guy鈥 or 鈥淢emory Woman鈥 also once took their first steps at university. The campaign reminds us that an interest in science often begins long before a person receives their first academic title.
Look for Us Across the City and Online
Throughout November 2026, the campaign will be displayed at 55 selected public transport stops in 艁贸d藕. A promotional spot supporting the campaign will also appear on buses and trams operated by MPK 艁贸d藕, as well as on 艁贸dzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna trains. Throughout November and December, the campaign will also be present in selected arthouse cinemas in 艁贸d藕 and the region, as well as on digital screens across UniLodz buildings.
The stories of our researchers are explored in greater depth through popular science articles, podcasts, video materials and social media content. These are the places where audiences will be able to go behind the scenes of projects that, on posters, have been distilled into just a few words and a single portrait.
